I initiated the idea for a Lecture Series (MLS) at the University of Kansas. The annual lecture is aimed at addressing the leadership issues of African leaders – to be discussed by world renowned scholars in African affairs. The lecture seeks recommendations on how best to improve African leadership.

Coordinated the educational visit of Professor Beverly Mack, Language Coordinator at the University of Kansas, to Danfodiyo University, Nigeria. The purpose of the visit was to finalize arrangements for the Intensive Hausa Summer Institute between Danfodiyo University and the University of Kansas.

Educational Project with African Women: Initiated and coordinated the visit of the Executive members of the National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS) to the US. The primary purpose of the project and the visit was for the members of the NCWS to meet American women in an academic setting in order to exchange ideas, examine how they function, and to seek areas of cooperation. The African Women also met with business and opinion leaders in Kansas, Missouri and Atlanta, including Kansas House Representative Barbara Ballard, Mayor Emmanuel Cleaver II of Kansas City, MO and Mayor Bill Campbell of Atlanta, GA.
Project on the exchange of staff and students between the University of Kansas and the University of Jos, Nigeria. The aim of the project was to provide an avenue in the field of student and scholar exchange, and more importantly, in cooperation of research and development.
Educational Project on the Plights of Destitute Children in Africa: Initiated, coordinated and contributed valuable material with the hope to rehabilitate destitute children in Zamfara State, Nigeria. The aim of the project was to share beneficial ideas with community members on how best they can educationally rehabilitate destitute children in their area. Wrote a booklet, Children Foundation Center, about the project.
Promotion of Economic and Political cooperation between the US and Africa Initiated and coordinated the visit of the Speaker of Nigeria’s National House of Representatives to Kansas City, MO. The aim of the visit was for the Speaker to meet with Mayor Kay Barns of Kansas City and members of the business communities in the greater Kansas City area.
Initiated and coordinated the visit of the Governor of Zamfara State, Nigeria, and his entourage to Kansas City. The aim was to provide a forum for beneficial economic and educational cooperation. They participated in the annual World Trade Conference in Overland Park, KS and also addressed the City Council in Kansas City, MO.
Coordinated and hosted the visit of Professor Myra Gordon, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Science at Virginia Tech, to Nigeria. The purpose of the trip was to meet with as many women’s groups and governmental officials as possible in order to discuss areas of mutual collaboration between Virginia Tech and some Nigerian universities.
